Hunky Dory: Israel; EMI/ Capitol; EMC 3572-4; 1990.

1. EMI stock UK issue cover, Capitol cassette.

Israel had it’s own release of the 1990 EMI re-issues, all were on white Capitol cassettes with blue ink text printed directly onto the shell in the UK issue cover (J-card). Like their CD and LP counterparts the sleeve has been enhanced with photographs and lyrics etc.

The second cover shown here is a promotional copy that came in a NMC branded box. NMC was an Israeli record company CBS acquired and the 1990 releases were on the CBS subsidiary Capitol distributed via NMC. The cover has had holes punched in it and has a demo stamp in red ink on the inner cover. The cassettes are identical.

The track sequence has been slightly adjusted from the LP format so that tracks 2 and 3 from side 2 ‘Fill Your Heart’ and ‘Andy Warhol’ have been added as the last tracks on side 1 to give room for the bonus tracks: ‘Bombers’, ‘The Supermen – alternate version’, ‘Quicksand – demo version’ and ‘The Bewlay Brothers – alternate mix’ on side 2.
